Kim Sjøgren was the youngest ever concert master of The Royal Danish Orchestra with only 22 years of age. He recorded a few LP releases for Danacord before he moved to the major labels. These rare early LP’s are here presented for the first time on CD in new digital transfers. This is also the chance to listen to the young guitarist Lars Hannibal and the sadly now deceased pianist Anne Øland who was a specialist in the music of Carl Nielsen. A release to treasure and one for all lovers of music for the violin.

One of the very few Danish tenors known all over the world for his beautiful voice and strong stage presence here let his hear down and sings popular Danish songs in the “crooner” style done with charm and utter joy. Helge Rosvænge was the leading tenor not only in Germany but sang in many countries even into old age he performed at Carnegie Hall, New York. These utterly rare recodings are here collected for the first time and newly transferred using the best possible digital noise reducing system.

Ulla Kappel was for years the leading Danish authority on the music by Buxtehude and Danacord was lucky to make this early LP release where Ulla Kappel plays some of the masterworks for harpsichord by Buxtehude. It is now available for the first time on CD in new digital transfer. Also included are a few bonus tracks with never before released recordings featuring the Hungarian master organist János Sebestyén in music he never recorded commercially before. A must for all!

For this last volume of recordings emanating from Danish Radio, Erling Blöndal Bengtsson plays six cello concertos, all by Danish composers, exhibiting a wide range of styles, from romantic to modern. Conductors include Thomas Jensen and Oliver Knussen. Also included is Tchaikovsky’s Rococo Variations, conducted by the legendary Pierre Monteux. Once again, Bengtsson’s open-mindedness, versatility, impeccable technique and sterling musicianship are presented as part of an infallible showcase.

Elisabeth Klein was an icon in the world of contemporary music. She worked with all the leading composers and did an amazing job for the young and coming composers, not least from the Scandinavian countries. Danacord had the luck to release a selection of her finest recordings on LP and it is now out in new digital transfers on CD. Here is a chance to listen to an extraordinary female pianist who interpreted the often most dense and difficult piano pieces with ease and with elegance. Not to be missed!

A truly rare original Long Playing release is here out for the first time on CD. The highly musical family of the violinist Emil Telmányi are performing music by two composers close to them and which they have championed all their life. The Nielsen Quintet, a rarely heard early work by the young composer, is here receiving its first CD release together with a selection of the romantic J.P.E. Hartmann works for strings. One critic called the LP "one of the most important additions to Danish music".

First recordings of the two sonatas for cello and piano and of the last trio for violin, cello and piano by the Russian romantic composer Anton Rubinstein. Performed by three fine musicians often playing together and giving a fully convincing performance of these rare works. On the re-issue of the original LP a bonus CD is included with the first release of the original master tape of the last Rubinstein trio, a large scale work showing deep understanding of the chamber music combination from this big Russian.

The two leading Danish musicians, cellist Gert von Bülow and pianist Merete Westergaard are here together performing the only Cello Sonatas by Rachmaninoff and Prokofiev. The original was one of the first Danacord Long Playing releases and received overwhelming fine acclaim from many critics. Here is the chance to hear this rare LP again newly transferred from the original master tapes to modern CD. Even with strong competition this CD will stand out as one of the finest versions.

More recordings from the archive of the Danish Radio featuring the cellist Erling Blöndal Bengtsson in repertoire he never commercially recorded. Among the highlights are a newly found live recording of the Bloch Schelomo. Yet again an amazing contribution to the discography of Erling Blöndal Bengtsson.

A truly sensational recording of piano music performed on Grieg´s own piano at the Troldhaugen Museum in Bergen, Norway. Pianist Pål Eide has selected music especially for this instrument and he is one of very few pianists who were invited to record on this rare instrument. A truly unique release!
